Healthy Veg Based Recipes
If you’re not vegetarian, you’ll still enjoy the recipes featured here. Eating less animal products benefits our health, decreases the suffering of animals and helps the planet. A plant-based diet doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice flavour though.
I started eating less animal-products for a few reasons:
- Environmental benefits
- Health & nutrition
- I feel better about my food choices
- It saves me money
- It makes me a more inventive cook
- Plus, I just don’t like meat that much and I LOVE veg!
Perfect For Pregnancy
As a lover of all things beige during most of my 20s, health and nutrition have become more important to me and I’ve found the best results for me come from building recipes around fresh, plant-based foods.
Not being one to jump into the unknown, I went about researching everything I could about a plant-based diet, prenatal nutrition and care. On this site I’ll share a bit of what I have learnt.
There’s no scaremongering, right or wrong or conversion tactics here, just simple, tasty recipes for you to try if you like.
Protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals are all vital during pregnancy, but so is enjoying your meals and finding time to relax in the kitchen and around the table with family.
I believe that food can bring great joy to our lives and cultivate comfort and warmth. A little of what you fancy is so important, both in pregnancy and beyond, so my recipes are equally indulgent when they need to be.
Pregnant or not, my sweet tooth is definitely over developed so I’ll also focus on a few healthier ways to satisfy those sugar cravings.
Natural, Simple & Delicious
I’m a firm believer that we can all create beautiful, warming and delicious dishes.
All my food is made to eat. I usually just grab a few snaps before we eat as I only have a limited amount of time before my husband and son get impatient watching their dinner go cold! So, whilst my photos aren’t perfect, all the food is real and easily made at home.
