Morning Sickness Relief
Pregnancy sickness is THE WORST. For a good few weeks all I wanted to eat was grapefruit. Like, I would actually be turning down ice cream for grapefruit…this is far from normal for me.
If you’re struggling with pregnancy sickness or just want something fresh and cool to enjoy morning, noon or night, give this one a try.
Ginger For Pregnancy
If you’re not a fan of ginger you can always just use soda water but the ginger does pair quite nicely with the grapefruit and is known to be helpful for nausea.
Pregnancy Mocktail
If you’re not pregnant you could definitely add a dash of your tipple of choice to this drink. But if you are off alcohol for whatever reason this is a great mocktail for any get together.
It’s also the perfect treat for yourself when you get a few minutes to enjoy the sun.
Simple Grapefruit Drink
The recipe is simple and adaptable. I garnished mine with some rosemary as I had some growing in my garden but you don’t have to. You could definitely sub this for mint (as this is another nausea reducing ingredient) or any other herb.
Rosemary Syrup
For a stronger herb taste you could try make a simple sugar syrup flavoured with the herb and mix this in. Just heat equal parts sugar and water in a pan with the herbs until sugar is dissolved. Give it a minute for the flavours to combine, cool then sieve.
- grapefruit juice
- ginger ale/beer
- ice
- rosemary
- lime
- Combine 1 part grapefruit juice with 2 parts ginger ale or beer.
- Mix and serve over ice.

* If you don't like ginger ale you could use soda water instead
* Grapefruit juice can be fresh or bought
* For a deeper rosemary flavour make a simple rosemary syrup and add this too
